Hi! Thanks for taking the time to read this. ^_^

I'm actually here to ask for your help...

I had this idea of making an artbook/illustration compilation book of works by FILIPINO artists... The idea came in quite a long time ago, but I was just too busy to actually plan it out and take action. This time, though, since my short vacation is nearing, I want to do something to at least make the first step.

When I brought the idea up to my friends, they asked me "why do you want to do this?"... My answers were:
1.) I have always been amazed by the awesome talents of my fellow Filipinos.
2.) I'd like the whole world to see how amazing the Filipino artists are, but first we should start locally... Then spread it out. DA can do the job, you may say... But believe me, there's really a BIG difference if there is a concrete object (the artbook, in this case), which is accessible to anyone, not just to DA account holders.
3.) I want to make something while I'm still young. This is a personal reason, but really, as I get older I'm going to get busier... And once I'll start earning (I'm still a student now) I'll probably have no time to do projects like this because I'll have too many things to think about... So I want to start NOW while I still have the time. My PASSION for art will always be there. But the time/dedication I can offer will unfortunately be less in the near future... T-T
4.) I was amazed by the work of

, who made a DA-artists-based artbook a reality. My friends contributed there, too, and it looked great.

I'm just so lucky to be surrounded by super talented illustrators... Like

to name a few. And maybe that's why I really want to let the people know of their existence and talent.

Can you guys help me out?

I laid down some things to be done before this can be a reality... And the 2 major walls I'm facing right now are:
1.) Funding/Sponsors
2.) Willing contributors/artists
I placed the description "willing" for the artists, because I definitely can't pay the artists for their great works because of problem #1.

So far the artists I mentioned earlier have showed willingness to contribute their art (simply because we've been friends for the longest time

). But I do promise that the other artists would get a free copy of the finished product if they'll participate.

So if you know of great artists/illustrators, whom you think could be or should be a part of this project (it could be yourself, too, of course), please let me know. The only criteria to be fulfilled is that he/she is a Filipino by blood. No matter where he/she is living right now or where he/she was born, as long as there's some amount of Filipino blood pumpin' through his/her arteries and veins, that'd be enough.

No minimum % of Filipino blood. Pure, mestizos/mestizas, whatever he/she is, they are highly welcome!

And more importantly, if you know of organizations/communities/people who are willing to sponsor this kind of project, please do let me know... 'Coz right now I can imagine myself being stuck in the printing process due to lack of funds.

I have no plans of earning from this project. The artbooks will be sold, of course, to get the cost back, but not for profit. I just want to spread the love, as they say. So if we can find more sponsors to shoulder the printing cost, the artbook can be sold with a cheaper price... Some may even be free!

I'm also looking for a printing company... But that could come later. One step at a time.

Screening processes for your suggested artists would be done by

's girlfriend (I haven't asked her yet either, but I'm sure she'll be willing.

). They are amaaaaaaazing artists so I'm sure you guys won't disagree to my choice of judges.

is also going to be the overall designer for the whole artbook.
